Our Wednesday Meeting is a closed discussion meeting. The topic is usually one of A.A.'s Twelve Steps. The exceptions are that after we discuss all twelve of the Steps, we then discuss Sponsorship on the following Wednesday. The last Wednesday of the month we discuss one of the Twelve Traditions by which the A.A. group conducts itself. The format of the meeting is simple. A chairperson reads a short synopsis of the main points of the Step/Tradition and then shares his or her experience with that principle. In turn, each member also shares their experience. These meetings are where we learn how others in our Fellowship apply the AA principles. They provide insight into what works, and what doesn't, as well as encouragement for those who may be struggling with a particular principle and its application. Again, we encourage all who attend these meeting to remember our tradition of anonymity and not discuss with others outside the meeting who was in attendance, or what was discussed. This is critical to the survival of the group and our ability to share openly with one another. |
